God’s Loving Discipline Expressed Through Joseph Genesis 42:18-20 By Rev Julio Orozco Jr.
Welcome to Grace Community Church we will be looking at Genesis 42:18-20 today
Overview:
Two weeks ago, we saw how by the sovereign hand of God, Joseph’s brothers who betrayed him were themselves led to the land of Egypt. It wasn’t accidental, God was working behind the curtain for a specific purpose- the necessity of confronting sins of the past. In today’s sermon, Reverend Julio Orozco will explore verses 18 through 20, where Joseph, prompted by the Spirit of God begins the process of disciplining his brothers that they may repent of their unconfessed iniquities. One of the fascinating element about this passage is that it mirrors the life of Christ.
PS: I will also invite you to like and share the sermon on Youtube because it helps in propagating it to other people around world.
The Service 10.24.2021: Genesis 42:18-20
The Passage:
18 On the third day Joseph said to them, “Do this and you will live, for I fear God: 19 if you are honest men, let one of your brothers remain confined where you are in custody, and let the rest go and carry grain for the famine of your households, 20 and bring your youngest brother to me. So your words will be verified, and you shall not die.” And they did so.
