Are You Convinced Of Jesus’Authority Over Everything? Matthew 28:18-20

The gravity of Jesus’ ascension into heaven and return to the Father cannot be understated. Before He left, He appeared to His disciples, about 500 people, to prepare them for the monumental task ahead. Through His resurrection, He proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that He was indeed the Son of God, equal to the Father in every way. With this authority, He delivered the great commission, a command accepted intellectually by most Christians but practically dismissed by many. The great commission is not just a suggestion or a recommendation, it is a command from the highest authority in existence.

Today’s sermon, delivered by Reverend Julio, will explore the symbiotic relationship between Jesus’ authority, the great commission, and our response to it. As we listen to Reverend Julio’s message, may we be convicted and inspired to fully embrace the great commission and live it out in our everyday lives.

The Great Commission: From The Highest Authority In Heaven And Earth

The Passage: Matthew 28:18-20

18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
