Don’t Use Youth As An Excuse To Live In Unbelief, 1 Timothy 4:12
Timothy, a man mentored by the apostle Paul, was known to be somewhat timid according to Scripture. Paul’s letters to Timothy were full of exhortations as he neared the end of his life, encouraging Timothy to live out his God calling. Eventually, Timothy became an overseer in the church at Ephesus, a melting pot and booming metropolis. However, Ephesus was also home to a temple dedicated to the idol Diana, the goddess of fertility. Timothy was called to shepherd in this place. Even today, the letter to Timothy remains relevant, especially for those of us living in antithetical environments such as DC. Youth is not an excuse to delay one’s holy calling. As Reverend Julio discusses today, we must all be reminded of Timothy’s example and his unwavering commitment to serving God, even in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.
Youth Is Not An Excuse To Delay One’s Holy Calling
The Passage: 1 Timothy 4:12
12 Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
