A Call To Separate Ourselves From The World, Nehemiah 10:1-31

In the ninth chapter of the book of Nehemiah, we find the most extensive prayer ever documented in Sacred Scripture. Reverend Orozco unpacked the essential themes within this prayer, which included an acknowledgment of God’s attributes, a candid admission of the people’s rebellion, and a heartfelt recognition of God’s unwavering faithfulness and goodness. We realized that this cycle of rebellion and repentance is not uncommon in the spiritual journeys of many Christians, yet it need not be the norm. The chapter concluded with the renewal of the covenant between God and His people, a covenant of  holiness. Here, the people expressed their desire for God to hold the highest place in every facet of their lives. In our day and age, while many churches lean towards being ‘seeker-sensitive’, Reverend Orozco will remind us in today’s sermon that our true calling is to be distinctly set apart for God.
