For the month of March, the Youth Council has started a Psycho-educational series on mental health. Last week, we took the Enneagram Personality test, (which consists of 9 different personality types) that helps us understand our personality and the different perspectives we have. It also helps to know which personality we have so when situations arises, we can use the different coping strategies that work well with our personalities. Last night, we came up with a list of healthy vs. unhealthy coping strategies for stress. We even acted out some scenarios about unhealthy coping strategies (which was a lot of fun to do)! 😀 TheRead More →

The 5 types of Love Languages by Gary Chapman outlines the 5 ways to express and experience love. They are Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, Receiving Gifts, Acts of Service, & Physical Touch. We all took the Love Language quiz to discover what each of our Love Language is and engaged in discussion regarding how God displays Love using each Love Language in the Bible. We read from Psalm 139:7-10 & John 13:1-17, when Jesus washed the disciples’ feet with Physical Touch; Hebrews 13:5 & Matthew 1:23 with Quality Time, John 15:9 with Words of Affirmation; Romans 5:8 with Acts of Service; and Romans 6:23Read More →

Tonight we focused on the different types of loves described in the Bible (Storge, Philia, Eros, and Agape) and talked about how we show these types of loves every day of our lives. We shared with one another which type of love we personally struggle with and why. We were able to pray for each other and expand a little more on God’s unconditional love. We ended our night by reading Ephesians 3:17-19 and acknowledging the depth of God’s love. 17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. For this month of February, we are focusing on the meaning of Love and what it represents and means to us. After playing a round of UNO, we started on the topic in a Hot Potato approach. Are You Heavenly Minded Together Tuesday With The Youth

We are reminded in Colossians 3: 1 to set our hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.  There wasn’t one soul on Sunday that wasn’t affected by the tragic deaths of Kobe, his daughter and the other individuals who boarded that helicopter and never planned on dying on that day. As the youth got together on Tuesday January the 28th, they  talked about the importance of keeping one’s mind on heavenly things. Josue Ramirez, who is one of the leaders took the time to share with us some of the important things that were discussed, We spoke aboutRead More →
